Earth Matters Part 2; The Forgotten Mills, Stunning Snowdonia
Having had an incredible adventure exploring and photographing the Forgotten Textile Mills in Talybont, the next part of our earth Matters photoshoot took place in the beautiful scenery of nearby Snowdonia. Rusts, deep reds and ivory and sandy tones were set against a backdrop of mountains and lakes, the colours contrasting against the lichen and moss -covered rocks and sun-bleached grass of the mountains behind.
The location for final part of the shoot was the beach at Tywyn, near Aberystwyth. Our wraps and scarves in a neutral palette of ivory, Silver mist, granite grey, slate brown are shot against the white sand of the dunes and the texture of the sea grass. Our hand woven scarves and wraps are designed to be timeless classics with a twist.
Our ‘wearable blankets’ are perfect for wrapping up against the elements and exaggerated fringes showcase the natural beauty of the yarn. The Tibetan style Tiger and Snow Leopard looked as at home in the dunes as they would on the Tibetan plateau and our signature crane, symbolising freedom soared against the blue skies on a cold but clear day.
The campaign film was shot in cinemascope with an Arri Alexa studio camera, to create an organic cinematic look.
Our beautiful shoot tells the story of embracing nature and freedom and showcases the collection’s textural, timeless look which could only be created through the magic of hand-woven cloth. The spirit is one of positivity with the underlaying message to strive to appreciate, take care of our natural environment and to support our weavers.
